“What would your life look like if everything you’ve been praying for came true?”
Would you have a nicer home, would someone you love be healed, or would your bank account suddenly be overflowing?
Would the world around you be improved, or just YOUR WORLD?
Today, I want to share with you a courageous prayer of blessing and challenge you to see what a true life of blessing looks like.
What Blessings Are You Missing Out On?
When our prayers aren’t answered how we had hoped, we need to make sure we’re putting our pride aside. It’s not that we can’t ask God for nice things like a better job or bigger house, but if we limit our prayers to our needs, we could very well miss out on the blessings of a divine appointment or intervention, that God has to bless us even more.
Simply praying for God to bless you, according to His will and not yours, shows huge amounts of courage and humility.
I want to show you a small but courageous prayer found in 1 Chronicles 4:10, by a man named Jabez,
“Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” And God granted him his request.
Maybe at first you think this to be a selfish prayer not a courageous one, however, you’ll quickly see, if we can pray this prayer as Jabez did, we can be sure God will bless us in ways we never imagined. And wouldn’t you want THAT kind of blessing?
