Beautifully Broken! A Story Of Unexpected Purpose.

Have you ever felt like your brokenness disqualifies you?

Like you’re too flawed, too damaged, or too far gone to be used?

What if the very cracks you hide are the ones God wants to use to pour out purpose?

I want to share a story that I hope will help you see that the very thing you want to hide or wish away, is the very thing God looks at and say’s “I CAN USE THAT”

It’s the Parable of the Cracked Pot:

An old Chinese woman had two water cans attached to a yoke. Each day she would walk to the river, fill both cans, and return home. One of the cans was perfect. The other had a crack, leaking water along the path.

Ashamed, the cracked pot apologized to the woman for being broken.

She smiled gently and said,

“Did you think I didn’t notice the crack? Look at the path… the flowers on your side bloom because you were broken. I planted those seeds, and every day you watered them.”

What a powerful reminder. Our “cracks/ brokenness” aren’t just limitations—they are channels of life God uses for others.

If you’ve ever felt broken, overlooked, or not enough, this is for you. In my recent interview with Graydon Pelly on Hope Lives, I had the opportunity to share this story and how it relates to my own journey through brokenness, purpose, and healing.

Watch my full interview I did with Graydon Pelley on the Hope Lives podcast:

I CAN USE THAT

Let this encourage you: You don’t have to be perfect to make an impact.
Your story matters. Your journey has purpose.

Your brokenness doesn’t disqualify you—it prepares you.

If you’ve ever felt like your flaws made you unusable or your pain made you unworthy, you’re not alone. But what if those very cracks are where God’s purpose shines through?

)For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 2 Corinthians 4:6-7 (NIV)
