At first it was a whirlwind of survival, trying to figure out what was happening and lots of prayers to stop the paralysis. But through those initial days and weeks that followed my faith kept me believing in a positive outcome.

When this first happened to Vahen, someone did tell me it was ok to walk away. Stating that things had changed, and that’s not what I had signed up for, and that there would be no shame in walking away, but I don’t give up easily! And besides Vahen hadn’t changed who she was inside, so I just couldn’t accept that option.
