Like why are you here? Or what is your purpose in life?”
In the process of understanding my purpose, there were MANY times I was frustrated and confused not understanding why my life took such a tragic turn. I often reflect back to 22 years ago, when Transverse Myelitis took my independence and nearly destroyed my life. I thought my dreams of making a difference in the world had been destroyed with it!
I’ll never forget this quote I opened with today, because I found it as I was experiencing some of my biggest doubts about my purpose, and it is titled – Influence – Uniquely You.
It also said…”
“I believe God knew exactly where you would be right now, and exactly what you would be like. He knew about your passions, your gifts, and the platform you would have. He made you to be uniquely significant, and to have an impact on the world around you.”
This was confirmation I DID have a purpose and that God would enable me to influence others. From that time on, I knew I had to walk through every door to help others see their purpose and empower them to change.
In 2017, when I was crowned the first ever Miss Wheelchair Canada, and won Miss Kindness world in Poland at the Miss Wheelchair World pageant, I realized I had another opportunity to make a difference. To inspire not only people with physical disabilities, but anyone who has ever felt fearful, unworthy, or unloved.
What I thought was the end of my dreams was actually JUST THE BEGINGING of my journey towards a purpose bigger than I could have ever hoped or dreamed of.

First of all, the this award goes to a woman who has a global vision coupled with a contagious message to share with the world. She radiates passion and purpose to make an impact in her community and this passion extends as far as her voice can reach. She is of service as a mentor paving the road less traveled for other women to follow. Influencers may be movement creators, speakers, authors, filmmakers, and recording artists.
God has indeed opened MANY doors for me to have influence in the world around me. And the newest title that I have been blessed to receive, is the 2021 Women of Inspiration “INFLUENCER” Award.
