Do you struggle to keep your joy or peace?
Are all the things that you are seeing, hearing or experiencing taking you through a valley of depression or anxiety? Trust me, I know it’s harder now than ever to keep your joy and peace.
That’s why I believe IT’S TIME to ask BOLDLY for the things we so desperately need.
My Bold Prayer
God Wants Us To Be Bold
Over the past 10 years, this prayer has been a prayer I have been consistently drawn back to, and I have to say has built up my faith to ASK BOLDY. I have been praying this prayer for my own life, but also for the lives of those who have had their joy stolen, or just trapped in hopelessness. And how this prayer came to be, is a whole another blog in itself, but it stems from Ezekiel 37.
Ezekiel was a prophet who had a vision from God. In this vision, he saw a valley filled with bones and decay – the valley of dry bones. It represented death and hopelessness that we ourselves find in our lives.
God asked Ezekiel if it was possible for these bones to have life, to which Ezekiel responded:
“God, I don’t know the answer to that. Only you know.”
But God pushed Ezekiel, and challenged him to declare the truth in that valley of decay, and to bring to life what is dead.
Ezekiel obeyed God, and spoke the truth that God had told him, and the bones became living beings in that valley.
Ezekiel spoke truth, and God wants us, like Ezekiel, to be BOLD and speak the truth today.
God wanted to show His power back then, and He also wants to show His power again today.
We have a powerful God, who THRIVES in desperate situations. He’s known for bringing hope to hopeless situations, and making the impossible possible.
In Isaiah 6:8 it says:
“Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And like Isaiah I will say, “Here am I Lord, Send me.”
Now is not the time to just sit back and watch what’s happening in the world, but IT’S TIME to take a stand.
And don’t discount yourself by saying, “But what can one person do?” or “I’m nobody special.”
If you know how to open your mouth and speak, then God is calling you to pray and declare the truth.
How Can We Know Truth?
We can discern what is true in our lives by going back to the Bible. We can start by looking at John and the book of Isaiah:
John 14:26
But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
But if we begin to listen to the voice of man and we put what the world says at the forefront instead of what God says, we begin to get confused and lose sight of what is true.
And we know that God is in control at all times and will pour out his spirit to us, but we, on our part, also need to be praying and building a relationship with Him.
Rise Up And Speak
I believe that like Esther, we need to take a look at where God has put us and not be afraid to speak up. Because who knows if perhaps you were brought to YOUR POSITION for such a time as this?”
Now is not the time to remain silent, but a time to RISE UP and SPEAK the truth.
And like Nehemiah did when he rebuilt the wall, we need to PRAY, PLAN, and PUSH FORWARD.
IT’S TIME to rebuild some things.
IT’S TIME to come together in unity and rebuild what has been torn down.
IT’S TIME to fight for what has been taken. Not fight each other but fight on our knees so we can KNOW the truth when we are called to declare it.
IT’S TIME...
Ask God to give you the courage to hold truth in your hand, to stand in the face of hopelessness and death, and BELIEVE GOD FOR THE IMPOSSIBLE.
