PROTECT MY WHAT...?

On April 13, 2021, I woke up with a word, just ONE word ringing loud in my mind! UNDERBELLY! I’m like UNDERBELLY?? Your probably thinking the same as I did. THAT’S ODD! And I’ll tell you more about that in just a minute, but before I do, I’ll also tell you that just this last month, one of the ladies in my prayer said she was reminded of that word again, and felt to share with me again.. She said, “This word UNDERBELLY, you gave me last year, has been on my mind strong today, and wanted to share.” And I was like WOW, is this ever a word that bears repeating. And I kinda felt, that others may need it too. Which is why I want to share with you all, in hopes that it encourages and empowers you in whatever season you may be in.  So, as I continue here, allow me to share the word as I received it on April 13, 2021 from my journal entry.

WHAT IS UNDERBELLY?

I’m like UNDERBELLY?? THAT’S ODD GOD! 
So I went on a word search, because that’s definitely not a word I would use in my everyday. Asking myself, “Why did I get the word UNDERBELLY?” Thinking I’m TOTALLY out to lunch here.. But what I found, was truly a message I knew I would need to keep close. And boy was I right! Or better yet God was! LOL 
 

Underbelly has 3 meanings…
1. Soft underside or abdomen of an animal
2. An area vulnerable to attack.
3. A hidden unpleasant or criminal part of society.

I was like, I still don’t know why this word came to me this morning. But, as I read again what underbelly means, #2 JUMPED OUT AT ME!

I think of all the good things we do in this season, like rebuild, call people higher, to ignite hope, or be a support for people in ways we never thought we could or would have to be. It’s a precious gift, but the needs are endless and  comes with a caution or warning sign. YOU CAN’T DO IT ALL! OR BE ALL! TO ALL PEOPLE! ALL THE TIME. 

I believe God is also saying, be MINDFUL and AWARE of the genuine people who are willing to receive your help, verses the people who are not so genuine or just want to ZAP the strength that you have, therefore rendering you ineffective. In this season, I encourage you to yes encourage, let people be warm by the fire that burns within you, but use wisdom, and DON’T GIVE AWAY YOUR OIL that keeps your fire burning. Don’t use up all your energy and strength and find yourself “wanting,” if you know what I mean? PROTECT YOUR UNDERBELLY. Protect those areas you are vulnerable to attack.

 

MY PRAYER FOR YOU!

God, I pray protection around (___INSERT YOUR NAME__) and anyone right now who’s doing their best to help those in need, or need to be encouraged, I pray for wisdom and discernment for any area’s we are vulnerable to attack. Let us continue to help others from a place of vulnerability and love, and help them know they are protected. So God I thank you, for that protection, but I also thank you that You give wisdom and strategies to help us as our part in that protection.
