I Choose Joy

Here with me today is one of my favorite communicators, I look up to him and respect him. Pastor Lorne Young he’s not only my pastor and friend, he’s also family. I am always bless when I get to share the word and the platform with Him. I want to replay His Thanksgiving message for you, that I had the privilege to be apart of, and while it’s not your typical “Thanksgiving message,” I believe it will help you not only view your circumstances differently, but challenge you to CHOOSE JOY! 

HOW CAN I HAVE JOY IN THE MIDST OF A PANDEMIC? Or when my life gets turned upside down?

Both physically and spiritually speaking we long to be COMFORTABLE or have an easy life. When God called us to carry our cross “daily,” He knew that was not going to be an easy road. God didn’t call us to be comfortable he called us to be dangerous.

I HAVE JOY, not because I don’t have troubles, or that I don’t ever fear or get upset, I have joy because God is BIGGER THAN MY TROUBLES, and I have chosen to allow Him to come into my pain and brokenness and give me what I don’t have in my own strength. 

When troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for GREAT JOY. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. James 1:2‭-‬4 NLT .

Is God patient, loving and kind as we grow or even buckle under the weight of our cross? ONE THOUSAND PERCENT!

But if we don’t change our mentality and allow God to work in us, and access His strength and power, than we’ll always be discontent, frustrated and living without joy.

Like Paul, I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength. And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:11‭-‬13‭, ‬19 NIV

It is our prayer today, that you allow God to come into your pain and brokenness and access the strength you need to heal so you can experience joy!
