“When the going gets tough, the tough get going.”
A phrase we’ve all heard, or may have even told others. However, it’s a lot easier said than done. And my feature today on Contagious Courage is a man who when the going GOT TOUGH, HE STAYED!
And that man is my husband Vaughan.
Through infidelity, a life-altering disability, and more, when the going got tough he made the decision to STAY with me through it all. And THAT takes courage.
Staying in a situation where you’re not treated fairly, where you’re struggling, where you may be asking “Why?” takes amazing amounts of courage.
For today’s Contagious Courage, I want to highlight my husband, yes, but also I would like to feature Heart Matters as they just experienced a heartbreaking loss, after they lost their co-host pastor Benson to a tragic car accident this past month.

Heart Matters is an association devoted to featuring stories, music, and messages to people around the world that show the life-changing transformation Jesus can have in people’s lives a program I had the privilege of being a guest.
Pastor Benson was a co-founder of Heart Matters and unfortunately, was killed in a tragic car accident. Pastor Benson was a LOT of things, but if I was to say ONE thing, he was a great man of God, who wanted others to not only know of Jesus but EXPERIENCE Him. So, I want to take a moment now to send my greetings and condolences to Newfoundland and all the family and church community who have had to navigate this tragic loss.

COURAGE TO HOLD ON AND GO ON!
In all of life’s tragedies and unwelcomed circumstances, I pray today that as you’ve seen and heard the stories of THREE men who modeled AMAZING GRACE AND COURAGE, (yes, I also want to give special mention to Pastor Mike Freak, my dear friend. He exemplified such amazing strength, wisdom and courage to honour his friend and colleague SO INCREDIBLY WELL) that you too will experience Jesus and find the COURAGE TO HOLD ON, AND GO ON!
